After last month brought an onslaught of highly anticipated movies and tv shows, it’s only fair that April gives us some time to catch our breath before things pick up again. However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t some exciting films, animations, and series to catch this month.
And so, here’s What to Watch in April 2021:
1. THEM 2021 (April 9th)
Where to Watch:
Synopsis: Set in the 1950s, THEM, sees a Black family move to an all-white Los Angeles neighborhood during the period known as The Great Migration. However, the family’s new home soon becomes a nightmare, where malevolent forces (both next door and otherworldly) threaten to taunt, ravage and destroy them.
2. Thunder Force (April 9th)
Where to Watch:
Synopsis: Thunder force sees two childhood friends (Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer) reunite as crime-fighting superheroes when one invents a formula that gives regular people superpowers.
3. The Nevers (April 11th)
Where to Watch:
Synopsis: The Nevers is an epic science-fiction drama about a gang of Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies, and a mission that might change the world.
4. Nobody (April 16th)
Where to Watch:
Synopsis: When two thieves break into his home one night, Hutch Mansell declines to defend himself or his family, hoping to prevent serious violence. However, the aftermath of the incident only strikes a match to Hutch’s long-simmering rage and propels him on a brutal path that will surface dark secrets and lethal skills.
In a barrage of fists, gunfire, and squealing tires, Hutch must now save his wife and son from a dangerous adversary — and ensure that he will never be underestimated again.
Review: Nobody flawlessly combines creative violence with natural comedy and good acting to create one of the most entertaining action thrillers I’ve ever seen. You should definitely check this one out. Read Full Review

Why you Should Skip: There’s No Reason to Skip This Movie.
5. Mortal Kombat (April 23rd)
Where to Watch:
Synopsis: MMA fighter Cole Young seeks out Earth’s greatest champions in order to stand against the enemies of Outworld in a high-stakes battle for the universe.
Review: The new Mortal Kombat Movie might have awesome fight scenes and stunning visual effects to go with them, but that’s not enough to hide the laziness of its script or the absence of the franchise’s rich history. Read Full Review
Why You Should Watch: Awesome Fight Scenes, Amazing Visual Effects
Why you Should Skip: Terrible Storyline, Poor Characters
6. Justice Society World War II
Where to Watch:
Synopsis: The Justice Society of America, a group of heroes aiding the allies in World War 2, acquire an ally from the future who sends them on an adventure that changes history.
Review: Justice society World War II was a nice deviation from the norm, that depicts The JSA (and The Flash) in all their glory. Though The DC animated movie could have done with a better ending, I enjoyed the film’s incredible action and a decent story, and I highly recommend it to all DC fans. Read Our Full Review
