Welcome to CinemaHub’s Timeline of DC’s Animated TomorrowVerse.
Launched on August 23rd, 2020, with Superman: Man of Tomorrow, DC’s Tomorrowverse has released (as of the time of writing this article) eight animated films. This timeline shows the chronological order to watch these animated movies and explains how each film is connected to the other, as well as, how The New 52 DC Animated Universe links to this new continuity.
Please, feel free to use and share the timeline.
Enjoy!!!
Man of Tomorrow sees Clark Kent, an intern at the Daily Planet, as he uses his secret superpowers to save Metropolis from the evil intentions of alien invaders, Lobo and Parasite.
How it Fits Into The Timeline:
Superman: Man of Tomorrow is the first movie in The DC Tomorrowverse continuity following the events of Apokolips War and House of Mystery.
When the Flash travels back in time, he ends up landing right in the middle of WWII, where he joins the Justice Society of America, a covert superhero team aiding the Allies in the battle against the Nazis.
How it Fits Into The Timeline:
Justice Society World War II introduces the Flash into the Tomorrowverse and sees him travel to earth-2 where he meets Black Canary, Jay Garrick’s Flash, Hourman, Hawkman, and the fearless Amazonian princess herself, Wonder Woman.
Justice Society World War II also gives us our first superhero team-up in the TomorrowVerse, with both The Flash and Superman fighting Brainiac. The movie ends with The Flash suggesting to Superman to form the Justice League.
Rating:
With atrocious murders taking place during public holidays in Gotham, Batman, Captain James Gordon, and DA Harvey Dent, initially suspect the mob boss, Carmine Falcone. But it soon becomes clear that someone else is involved.
How it Fits Into The Timeline:
The long Halloween introduces Batman into this new continuity. The story follows an inexperienced Bruce Wayne dealing with the Italian mafia while slowly meeting members of his future rogues’ gallery.
While The Holiday Killer continues to stalk the Falcone crime family, a new class of costumed criminals rises in Gotham City. Meanwhile, Batman suspects that a former ally might be the serial killer.
How it Fits Into The Timeline:
The Long Halloween ends with Green Arrow and The Flash meeting Bruce to help Superman after Amazo drains him of power.
When a Power Ring is bestowed upon former Marine sniper John Stewart, it leads him on a life-changing mission. With Justice League member Green Arrow and Thanagarian Hawkgirl by his side, Stewart is thrown into a complicated galactic war.
How it Fits Into The Timeline:
Green Lantern: Beware My Power, confirms that the Justice League has been formed and Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, and Vixen are members.
.
Devastated by the loss of Krypton, Kara struggles to adjust to her new life on Earth, while her cousin Superman mentors her. But when the legion of superheroes recruits her, Kara finds her second wind in the 31st century.
However, our new hero must also contend with a mysterious group called the Dark Circle who searches for a powerful weapon held in the Academy’s vault.
How it Fits Into The Timeline:
Legion of Superheroes introduces Supergirl into the new continuity. After Brainiac’s defeat in Man of Tomorrow, Brainiac is cloned to make Brainiac 5 and his clone siblings.
Also, at the end of Legion of Superheroes, Superman and Batman are kidnapped and taken to Warworld.
After being kidnapped and transported to a strange world, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman unite to form a resistance and lead the planet to freedom.
How it Fits Into The Timeline:
After Lobo and Martian Manhunter help them escape WarWorld, Harbinger, takes Batman, Superman, and earth-2 Wonder Woman to the monitor’s satellite ahead of Crisis on Infinite Earths.
With the unstoppable anti-matter wave bearing down on the DC multiverse, The Monitor gathers great heroes from multiple earths to save all of reality from Armageddon.
How it Fits Into The Timeline:
Crisis on Infinite Earths part one perfectly connects all the Tomorrowverse movies and fills in the missing pieces. Many of the film’s events happen before, during, and after other Tomorrowverse films.
Through Crisis Part One we see:
1. Barry meets Iris for the first time. This must have happened before Justice Society: WWII where Barry proposes to Iris.
2. The Flash, Superman, and Green Arrow’s first fight with Amazo. This must have happened after Man of Tomorrow because Amazo has Parasite’s power-stealing ability. This event must have also happened after Justice Society: WWII because Superman and The Flash already know each other after their first team-up against Brainiac.
3. The Flash and Green Arrow go to Batman for help after Amazo steals Superman’s powers. This leads to the after-credit scene of the Long Halloween Part 2.
4. The formation of the Justice League with Superman, the Flash, Green Arrow, Batman, Vixen, and Martian Manhunter (Still funny that Hal Jordan blew them off) and their final fight against Amazo and Lex Luthor. This event must have happened before Green Lantern Beware My Power, where John Stewart meets a fully formed Justice League.
5. Constantine warns the Flash about the imminent doom of the multiverse and refers to the original sin that he and the Flash committed by resetting the DC New 52 Animated Universe at the end of Apokolips war. (This also links House of Mystery to the Tomorrowverse).
